Pakistani authorities have launched a multi-agency search and rescue operation after the Boeing 737-400 freighter lost contact on Tuesday evening.

A K2 Airways cargo flight carrying five crew members has gone missing over the Arabian Sea after losing contact with air traffic control late on Tuesday. The Boeing 737-400 freighter, operating as flight KTA1732 and registered as AP-BOI, remains unaccounted for as a large-scale search operation continues.
The aircraft was en route from Sharjah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan. According to Pakistani authorities, radar contact was lost when the plane was approximately 155 nautical miles west of Karachi.
Prior to the aircraft's disappearance, the flight crew communicated with the Karachi Area Control Centre. At approximately 9:18 PM Pakistan Standard Time, the crew reported a malfunction with the aircraft's navigational system. Contact was severed shortly thereafter.
In response, Pakistani authorities have launched a comprehensive, multi-agency search and rescue mission in the Arabian Sea. The operation involves various naval and aerial assets, with the Pakistan Navy deploying the frigate PNS Zulfiqar alongside an ATR aircraft. Additional support is being provided by Pakistan Air Force aircraft and a vessel from the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.
As of Wednesday, July 8, the search efforts remain active and ongoing. Officials have not yet released further details regarding the five crew members aboard the aircraft, and the situation remains developing as rescue teams continue to survey the designated area.
